Welcome ,
This is the home page for the guitar studio of George Dean. The purpose of this page is to provide a resource my students. I will post information pertaining to lesson scheduling, student performances, Ensemble rehearsals and other lesson information. I will also provide links to resources to support your learning.

As well as being a music education professional I am an avid performer. I am experienced in a wide range of musical styles and settings from Jazz to modern musical styles .I have played in numerous groups , bands, ensembles and Orchestras  in Northeast Ohio. I studied Jazz Guitar at the University of Akron and received a B.A in Music Education. I did my graduate work at the Ashland University and received my Masters of Education. I am currently teaching music in the Canton City Schools at the Arts Academy at Summit . I have been trained in current educational practices and facilitated teacher training, as well as co-developing a school for the Arts in Canton City Schools.

I am a guitarist and accomplished in a variety of styles and instruments ( Bass , Banjo, and Mandolin). I am available for group and solo performance. I will update my performance schedule as well as booking information.

The benefits of playing a musical instruments last a life time and provide a form of personal expression only done through the language of music. Lessons are constructed and delivered with the individual learner in mind, so your lessons are personalized. No two people learn or play music the same. Lessons are constructed with the most current research and techniques in the field of education and music.



Musical study must be balanced between performance and theory. I have taught students of all levels and styles from ranging from classical , jazz , rock , country and others. Playing is vitally important and understanding what you are playing will develop the independent musician. Here are a few basics to keep you on the right track.
